People Manager

We're on the hunt for an exceptional People Manager to join our team at the Brisbane Lions.   If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a knack for empowering others, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for!

Joining a small but busy team of HR professionals at our new home Brighton Homes Arena, the People Manager will be a key member of the team offering support and guidance across the Club.

Reporting to the GM People and Culture, the People Manager’s responsibilities will include;

• Assist in developing and driving the People Strategy.
• Full end to end HR function management for our hospitality businesses.
• Develop and drive our L & D function to continue to engage and develop staff.
• Coaching and developing our people leaders. 
• Facilitate performance related processes.
• Award and compliance interpretation and advice.
• Be main point of contact for all grievances, employee disputes etc.

ABOUT YOU:

A great leader with people at the forefront, proven through your ability to build rapport and relationships with a large number of diverse stakeholders, with different priorities.  You must be confident in your decision-making approach, have a good understanding and appreciation of sensitive issues, and the willingness to carry out all facets of HR, including Administration.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Previous experience in a HR / People Related role
• Tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline
• Great generalist HR skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of Australian employment law including Award application, compliance and best practice.
• Hospitality experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
