Training Developer

The opportunity:
Icon Water's Resource and Capability branch is looking for a new team member to take on the role of Training Developer. This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of training resources and materials, including competency framework-based training within Icon Water. This also includes eLearning resources and the day-to-day management of the competency framework process (incorporating national industry training packages when required). This role will ensure that training designed and delivered continues to meet changing business needs and industry standards and enhances the capabilities of our workforce. The Resource and Capability branch is part of the People Health and Safety Group.
We are looking for someone who can work independently and yet is flexible enough to support team deliverables when required, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is able to demonstrate leadership qualities and has strong written and verbal communication skills. We are a small, dedicated team who support each other to achieve best for business outcomes.
Your responsibilities include:
- Analyse business requirements and use documented processes to design, develop, and maintain training materials, including eLearning content, to match learner and business needs.
- Develop learning specifications, course material and assessment methods aligned to strategic business objectives and/or recognised training packages.
- Design, implement and administer competency frameworks to lift the capability of Icon Waters workforce. This includes maintaining accurate and current records, including the tracking and reporting of worker progress via the Learning Management Systems.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of developed or amended resources. Document recommendations for improvement and action as necessary to modify and enhance existing eLearning packages using current and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate closely with the team and other internal stakeholders to understand development requirements and create engaging learning solutions, including liaising with subject matter experts regarding instructional design.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for training solutions and contribute to the enhancement of training and assessment policies, systems, procedures, and documents.
A successful candidate would have….
- Certificate IV in training and assessment or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in high level business administration.
- Extensive experience in designing and developing learning and assessment content aligned with adult learning principles, including design of e-learning material
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint and the use of training software packages (ie Articulate and graphic editing software)
- Experience in liaising with and influencing internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes
