About Lifeline Australia
Lifeline Australia is a leading national charity that enables the growth and delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services across Australia through its member organisation network.  This talented workforce of approximately 160 dedicated professionals includes clinical leads, fundraisers, technology experts, service and digital product designers, corporate services and program staff, as well as a digital delivery team, They have recently embarked on an exciting transformation journey, guided by an ambitious strategic plan to grow services and improve accessibility for the communities that they serve. About the Role
As Head of People & Culture, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's future. Reporting to the Executive Director of People and Corporate Services, you'll lead a small team of 4-5 staff, and be empowered to evolve the People and Culture function to meet its strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Implementing people strategies aligned with the strategic plan, ensuring staff retention, engagement, and high performance, and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Team Building: Leading and developing a high-performing P&C team, providing them with the resources and support needed to excel.
  • Performance Management: Developing and implementing a new performance management system that supports managers and team members.
  • Employee Experience: Enhancing the talent acquisition and onboarding processes to create an exceptional employee experience.
  • Capability and Learning: Planning and building a robust learning function to support staff development and operational needs.
  • Culture and Engagement: Driving initiatives to promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.

About You
We are seeking a motivated People & Culture leader with experience across various industries, including the not-for-profit or government sector. You should be an excellent communicator, listener, and facilitator who can balance daily operational requirements with strategic leadership.

You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Business and strong knowledge of Australian workplace legislation and employee relations.  It will be essential to have a track record of building high performing teams, a pragmatic outlook, and an energetic commitment to advancing Lifeline Australia's internal capabilities.
