A taskforce has been set up to implement the findings of the Coaldrake review in Queensland.

The taskforce, headed by director-general of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General David Mackie, will drive plans to introduce a legislative reform package to parliament in the wake of the report that found “widespread disaffection” with the government’s performance.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the reforms will establish a new integrity “benchmark” for the rest of the country to follow.

“These reforms will make Queensland the most transparent government in the country,” she said.

“Some reforms will be implemented immediately, others which require legislative change and stakeholder consultation will take a bit more time.

Reports say the attorney-general and the cabinet secretary will travel to New Zealand to look at its model and implications.
