The finalists of the 8th annual Safe Work Australia Awards have been announced, with Chief Executive of Safe Work Australia, Rex Hoy, commending the outstanding list of finalists.
The Federal Government has announced employers have started receiving the Commonwealth’s share of social and community sector workers’ pay rises from the $2.8 billion Pay Equity Special Account.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released a report showing that in May 2012, one in ten full-time employees earned $2,364 or more per week. It was also found that one in ten full-time employees earned $738 or less per week.
Businesses that hire a mature aged worker can receive a $1000 bonus from the Australian Government as part of a package of initiatives to increase mature age participation in the workforce.
