People and Culture Coordinator

If so, we are keen to talk with you about our People and Culture Coordinator role at Share the Dignity.
Share the Dignity is looking for a full time, permanent, HR generalist with a minimum of three years' experience, to assist our People and Culture Manager with the coordination of our employee strategy for the charity.
This is a redesigned role and there is potential for the successful candidate to help grow this role into the future.
Share the Dignity is passionate about our work helping women, girls and people who have a period, who are in need and eliminating period poverty in Australia. As a young charity (8 years old), there are still so many ways to grow and improve what we do – and we are looking for someone who would relish the challenge of being a part of this phase. Our small but mighty People and Culture team support both our employees and volunteers, with this role being primarily employee-focused. We are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, motivated, and passionate about our people and our culture. This role is busy, exciting, and rewarding. You will have the opportunity to roll out and coordinate people programs and provide HR support and advice.
Being adaptable, flexible and responsive to changing circumstances is a must. As is your ability to establish warm and respectful relationships with all stakeholders of Share the Dignity. You will need to communicate effectively and professionally in person, via email and using online communication tools.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Providing ad-hoc HR support and advice including interpreting Award and Legislation
- Assisting with the review and update of Policies and procedures
- Identifying Learning and Development needs and offering practical solutions to address any gaps
- Providing advice, guidance and supporting material to ensure ongoing compliance with the Fair Work Act Cth 2009 and relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Coordinating People and Culture projects and providing key stakeholders with HR advice for their projects
- Employee recruitment
- End-to-end management of WorkCover claims, and workplace health and safety
TO BE A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:
- Tertiary Qualifications in HR and/or previous experience/on-the-job training relevant to this role
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- Demonstrated experience in managing WorkCover claims and Health and Safety reporting
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to audience
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in high pressure or difficult situations
- Ability to uphold timeframes with high level organisation skills, eye for detail and the ability to think and plan ahead
- Desire and ability to follow through on delegated tasks and projects and report back on progress in a clear and concise manner
- Experience working for Not for Profit organisations desirable
- Experience with SharePoint desirable
