About the job

As part of the site management team, the WHS Partner supports the site leadership team and operational departments to continuously improving physical and psychological safety on-site. The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with Tassal's safety systems. 

You will be involved with the intricacies of day to day operations, such as co-ordinating and facilitating risk assessments for WH&S risks or issues raised and supporting the production team with day to day WH&S matters, conducting incident investigations, contributing to the creation or review of operating procedures, facilitating the timely reporting of injuries and illnesses, through to using your understanding and interpretation of WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and Tassal policy/procedures and advising on their application in the operational environment.

Compliance with Tassal’s safety systems is achieved by maintaining the site's WHS management system, as well as Tassal's safety culture change process. You will be responsible for, maintaining records, and ensuring the site fully complies to Tassal’s Safety Management system as well as assisting the site execute the Group Safety strategy. 

This full-time role is based at our Lidcombe Processing facility and reports to and is supported by the WHS Manager. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Minimum Cert IV in WHS, tertiary level qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or related discipline highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and interpretation of WHS legislation, regulations and Codes of Practices
  • Knowledge or experience in triaging injuries and assisting with first response to incidents and or injuries
  • First Aid knowledge and experience
  • Ability to deliver training to small groups
  • ICAM or equivalent investigation process experience
  • Competent with using computers mainly Microsoft Office, web-based portals and smartphone apps
  • Understanding of the process to assess and eliminate WHS risk
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong ability to influence others and effective leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with operational staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Have a positive, calm demeanour and be solutions orientated
