Learning & Capability Consultant - Workers Compensation

About the role

We are looking for an energetic and talented Learning & Capability Consultant to help us continually develop the capability of our frontline health & safety teams, so they can be and do their best to support our community to be safe at work.

This role will involve utilising professional expertise within both generalist learning and development alongside technical understanding of workers compensation to support internal teams, Inspectors, Agents and other scheme stakeholders in building their capabilities to achieve outcomes for WorkSafe and our community.

  • Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), stakeholders and the team to design, develop and deliver a range of training programs and solutions (accredited and no accredited) that respond to the competency needs and directions of WorkSafe
  • Create, edit, review and implement high quality training resources for face to face, blended and online delivery that are engaging, linked to scheme outcomes
  • Curate and create high quality learning solutions for both internal and external audiences, including WorkSafe teams, Agents, Occupational Rehabilitation Providers, Independent Medical Examiners, Legal Panels, Self-Insurers and TAC
  • Develop and write learning content for both internal and external audiences
  • Actively and constructively participate in forums involving internal and external stakeholders as required by contributing technical / specialist expertise and advice
  • Provide facilitation and/or facilitation support for workshops, including both face to face and online
  • Share and contribute technical / specialist expertise and knowledge with other team members to strengthen overall team capability and performance
  • Manage own and team project plan(s) to ensure learning solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

About you

You have a passion for learning and supporting others to be and do their best. You are passionate about health and safety in the workplace, particularly mental health & wellbeing and can draw on past professional experiences utilising best practice approaches to inform the design and development of capability solutions.  You have highly developed facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills in addition to;

Skills and experience

  • Experience (2+ years) in the Victorian Workers Compensation Scheme (VWCS)
  • Demonstrated experience in VWCS claims systems, such as Novus, Action & Tempus
  • Extensive understanding of claim process and lifecycle Experienced in holistic & person centred case management routines and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in formal instructional design techniques and processes (based on adult learning principles and practice)
  • Highly developed written, interpersonal and communication skills across all stakeholder types
  • Demonstrated ability to present information to a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent project management skills covering the development, planning, managing implementation and evaluation stages of own and team projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a range of internal and external clients/stakeholders at various management levels.
  • Highly developed problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate MS Office ( Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Qualifications

  • Desirable but not mandatory - Tertiary qualification in VET; minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or equivalent)
