People & Culture Business Partner

 

  • $116,223.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Full time, 6 month fixed term opportunity
  • Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days in office)

About the role

The P&C Business Partner works in partnership with a business area to develop business solutions and to provide high level service consistent with the organisation’s policy, strategy and the business unit needs. The P&C Business Partner provides input to the unit’s projects, business plan and helps integrate WorkSafe Victoria policies and initiatives into the business.

The P&C Business Partner is accountable for partnering with the business in collaboration with the People & Culture team to contribute to the wider business agenda and present solutions to leadership that enable success through their people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively partner with the business to enable leadership at all levels, including promote diversity, talent, engagement, employee relations, remuneration, recruitment, build capability and provide strategic advice that contributes to the organisation’s culture, goals and objectives.
  • Coach, train and support client group leaders in a range of HR functions in order to implement the extensive suite of HR policies, procedures and practices throughout the employment life cycle.
  • Conduct analysis and interpretation of client business plans and provide people solutions that have a long term outlook for the client.
  • Manage and deliver organisational change, associated communications and develop and implement change plans, consultation processes, resourcing requirements and management of redeployment cases.
  • With a focus on early intervention and local resolution, manage people concerns and complaints, including assessment of workplace issues, negotiating and applying appropriate remedial action including mediation as required in a case by case basis.
  • Manage and contribute to People & Culture projects and interventions designed to support the organisations strategic goals.
  • Work collaboratively across the People & Culture team to ensure consistency of services and strategic and integrated decision making.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of People & Culture services and initiatives provided and identify improvements where necessary

About you

You are an experienced People & Culture Business Partner who is passionate about delivering positive outcomes for your stakeholder group. Your thorough knowledge and experience in providing HR professional disciplines and advice across any aspect of the employee lifecycle will allow you to build trusted relationships and support your stakeholders in a professional manner.

You will also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of IR/ER, OHS, return to work relevant legislation
  • Understanding of theoretical disciplines of effective teams
  • Ability to align activities to organisational goals
  • Excellent customer focus and ability to influence and manage customer needs in order to deliver the right outcomes for WorkSafe.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and work autonomously with limited guidance
  • High level of knowledge and expertise in the systems and regulations governing the HR function
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR would be seen as highly desirable
