Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
The Human Resources Officer is part of a team of HR professionals providing generalist Human Resources advice and consultancy services to a designated Health Facility and/or District wide Directorate or Portfolio.  The role will be allocated responsibility for carrying out allocated HR Portfolio or project work and providing administrative and practical human resources support to assist the senior HR staff members. 

There may be some opportunities to provide support to a small portfolio of clients at this level, under the guidance of more senior team members.  As part of the organisations People and Culture Directorate, this role acts as a conduit for local HR/Workforce matters ensuring seamless access to advice/support across People and Culture.

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Human Resources/Human Capital Management with demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative support in one or more human resources or related functional areas.
  2. Demonstrated familiarity with, and ability to attain a sound understanding of legislative requirements, organisational policy and procedures associated with the management of a contemporary people and culture service area.
  3. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion while maintaining confidentiality
  4. Strong customer service focus, along with high level interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with diverse groups of people.
  5. Effective oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prepare drafts and final formatting of correspondence such as letters, briefs, reports and presentations.
  6. Demonstrated effective organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  7. Ability to be flexible and adaptable and have good team skills as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  8. Demonstrated intermediate computing skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as the ability to use human resource information systems and records management systems.
