People & Culture Advisor 

Queensland Cricket is the governing body for cricket in Queensland and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the game from community cricket through to elite levels across the state. Our elite teams include the Brisbane Heat BBL and WBBL teams, the Queensland Bulls, and the Queensland Fire.

Queensland Cricket has gone from strength to strength with continued increases in participation, fan engagement, employee engagement and renewal of key sponsorships for the next three years. Our refreshed strategy has an increased focus on commercialisation of opportunities to ensure our long-term financial sustainability and that of clubs and associations across the state.

The People & Culture (PAC) Advisor is a hands-on, role responsible for providing specialist PAC, Employee / Industrial Relations and Work Health and Safety expertise by way of advice and mentoring for managers and staff.

This role will also have a lot of involvement with case management, recruitment and employee relations & reports directly to Queensland Cricket’s Executive Leadership team

Role Description

  • You will be the first point of contact for PAC related queries and be able to provide excellent customer service and escalate or funnel queries where required
  • Coordinate process improvements, implementation of policies and procedures within PAC
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding processes by administrating our HR Digital System, generating employment agreements and initiating background checks and BlueCard requirements
  • Coordinate the implementation of the PAC Information System
  • Maintain employee data to a high standard of integrity and confidentiality
  • Coordinate quarterly How We Play values award and other employee benefits
  • Developing existing performance management and appraisal policies
  • Providing advice to Managers on a range of key matters

You’ll Have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent essential
  • Solid experience in a similar role (ideally 1 - 3 years)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail & high level of accuracy
  • Ability to problem solve
  • A warm and welcoming personality and a non-hierarchical mindset
  • Understanding of IR / ER legislation, workplace health & safety as well as PAC processes including implementation of change management
  • A strong business service focus with the ability to manage the ambiguity of employee relationships and genuine PAC advisor to key stakeholders
  • Sound PAC administrative skills including advanced computer skills in MS Office literacy including the ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities
  • Sound decision-making skills with a focus on identifying and understanding PAC issues and providing solutions
  • High level of integrity and respect to maintaining confidentiality of employee and company information
