ABOUT THE ROLE

Your future in food starts here | Safety Manager

As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Work Health and Safety (WHS) function at our Kilcoy Plant and influencing the overall WHS culture for the organisation. You will also help delivery and coordinate the WHS Management System (WHSMS) and activities that underpin it to lead business decisions and have a direct impact on business outcomes through employee safety and well-being.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience working within the WHS field and possess a high degree of knowledge around the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. You will also have experience working within a complex work environment, with high-risk activities with a lot of moving parts. You will have exceptional negotiation skills, combined with high level communication that allows you to deal and influencing within a business environment, at all levels and with a variety of key stakeholders.

YOUR RESPONSILBITIES

You will be responsible for the following strategic deliverables:

  • In accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, ensure compliance with all obligations and actions necessary to identify, assess and control workplace hazards and risks, and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Implement strategies to ensure compliance with other relevant rules, regulations and legislative requirements in the workplace.
  • Coordinate with Managers and Supervisors to ensure close out of Event Analysis and Corrective Actions, in accordance with required timescales.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

You will:

  • Be degreed qualified in Workplace Health and Safety
  • 3 plus years’ experience in a large complex food and or manufacturing environment
  • Large businesses experience
  • Working knowledge of a People Safety Software and Platform, such as Donesafe
