Reporting to the HR Director – Australia you will responsible for leading Health, Safety and Wellbeing across our Australian business, continuing to build on our already world class safety performance and striving towards our goal of zero injuries. Success will require active engagement and partnership with all areas of business.

You will need to influence, coach and support leaders from all areas of the business to stimulate behavioural change.

You'll be charged with developing the Australia HSW strategy and creating a sustainable meaningful change targeting core risks.  The HSW strategy will align with the global HSW strategic priorities and drive integration, simplification to create a consistent and effective approach and drive ownership, accountability and clarity of expectations within Australia.  Throughout delivery you will be required to articulate the strategy and provide Australian Leadership Team with informative updates regarding progress on strategy and safety performance.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced HSW leader with a strategic mind-set with expertise in process and behavioural safety.  You will be a confident and articulate communicator not afraid when it comes to influencing those around you at a senior level. Working with business leaders, your ability to develop a strategic framework and engage the business, and the HSW team for delivery, will be key to success.

Ideally we are looking for someone with;

• HSE qualifications will be preferred
• Proven experience and a deep understanding of working within large multinational industrial companies, such as mining/ heavy industry and manufacturing
• Experience delivering complex projects or programmes within time deadlines and budget
• Sound change management expertise and a natural curiosity to improve how we do things
• Proven skills in motivating and inspiring others; attracting, developing and retaining talent and building a pipeline for succession
