Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing 
The Work Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to the development, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Work Health & Safety across the LHD.

Responsibilities include consultation with relevant stakeholders, the provision of advice and assistance to facilities and services of WSLHD on matter relating to WHS, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, Ministry of Health and local policies and procedures are met and the prevention of workplace incidents and injuries.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience in applying the principles of the WHS Act and Regulations 2017
  2. Appropriate qualifications and / or extensive proven experience in WHS Management at a high level in a large service organisation
  3. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of health and safety strategies and initiatives
  4. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to: work effectively at all levels of the organization; influence and drive outcomes, through persuasion and the ability to gain respect and creditability with management and employees
  5. Demonstrated effective decision making skills using strategic thinking for positive outcomes in WHS
  6. Demonstrated experience in conducting training sessions for large and small groups.
  7. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  8. Current Drivers License valid within Australia
