Randstad is currently partnered with a Geelong based client seeking a Safety Partner on a temporary 6 month contract.

The Business Partner is responsible for advising the business in implementing safety plans, systems and processes, and in proactively identifying and managing safety risks in order to reduce risk, improve safety performance and keep everyone safe every day.

Vacancy based in Geelong, travel to Tasmania will be required

Your new role:

6 month contract starting May 2023.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner Supply Chain Leaders in creating safe operating environments by ensuring Leaders understand their safety accountability and have the capability and means to fulfil it.
  • Ensure robust safety governance through effective implementation of safety systems and processes, specifically management of risks, emergencies, incidents, contractors, permit, and chemicals, to keep everyone safe every day. Support implementation of Safety TRACC improvement programmes (lean manufacturing safety programme).
  • In partnership with Supply Chain Leaders embed safety strategies, plans and change initiatives in order to improve safety and workers compensation performance, safety risk reduction and control, and keeping everyone safe every day. Supports the implementation of mental and emotional wellbeing initiatives and programmes. Coach/support the people you partner with their mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance and compliance in order to maintain a comprehensive oversight and ensure countermeasures are put in place as needed.
  • Facilitate risk management processes to identify, manage and reduce safety risks. Ensure risks are clearly articulated and communicated, and risk action plans are progressed.
  • Oversee incident management processes ensuring immediate response, timely reporting and prevention of recurrence through systematic capture of learnings. Support leaders on incident investigations or lead significant incident investigations as needed. Support injury management processes.
  • Prioritise safety and promote company's safety culture
  • Consistently demonstrate company's Leadership Principles, and empower others within your team to do so
  • Actively find new ways to learn and grow and be challenged through formal and self-directed learning
  • Engage with and proactively participate in the Company Achievement Cycle and ensure mandatory capability programs are completed
  • Embed our SAP system & new processes, ensuring data quality outcomes and new reporting platforms are leveraged

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Ability to translate and communicate strategic priorities into actionable plans
  • Ability to engage and influence leaders and teams
  • Independent thinker with the ability to clearly articulate complex safety systems, risks and opportunities
  • Ability to lead change
  • Deep knowledge of Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation legislation, including compliance and governance
  • Understanding of personal and process safety, supported through effective risk management
  • Understanding of the drivers of business performance and the link to safety performance
  • Experience improving operational and technical safety outcomes through implementation of safety systems
  • Experience business partnering leaders and teams
  • Experience delivering safety initiatives

*Please note, to be considered for this role, you MUST:

  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Be qualified in safety or risk management field
  • Minimum 3 years experience Safety Advisor/Manager Experience
